Selection Group, its president, and its residents join to help children and support the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation25 June 2021
Laval, June 23rd, 2021 – Selection Group, under the leadership of its Founding President Réal Bouclin has during recent weeks mobilized its entire business network, as well as the employees and clients in its complexes to support the cause of children and the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation. The entire Quebec business community joined in the mobilization.
Children’s health is a cause that unites all generations. The importance of health, and its fragile nature has become even more clear during the past year. Many families that visit CHU Sainte-Justine experienced difficult times and challenges. The dedication and commitment of Sainte-Justine’s staff to children’s health has thus been particularly remarkable.
Mr. Bouclin was proud to take on the role of Honorary President of the Cachou Tournament for Sainte-Justine which took place on Monday June 21, 2021, at the Club Laval-sur-le-Lac golf course. The Cachou Tournament is the Foundation’s most important annual fundraising event. Selection Group also held a parallel event last month known as the Grand moitié-moitié Sélection Retraite, which consisted of two raffles in each of its complexes that were offered exclusively to residents, who were thus able to also support the Foundation.
These events raised a record $1,5 million. The funds will be used to help CHU Sainte-Justine maintain its international caliber leadership role in maternal and child health. Selection Group salutes the enormous work done by the Foundation team related to these activities for which Selection Group was a proud partner, and highlights the vital role played by the CHU Sainte-Justine in the lives of children and their families.
Selection Group regards making a difference in children’s health as a priority, by helping to provide the Foundation the means to support families and maintain quality care in CHU Sainte-Justine’s facilities. Mr. Bouclin’s efforts in mobilizing his networks in the business community and in Selection Group’s complexes demonstrates his clear commitment to supporting sick children.
Mr. Bouclin also highlighted the exceptional work of the organizing committee of the Cachou Tournament, as well as their support during preparation phase and the day of the event. He also thanked everyone who contributed to the tournament’s success, and to the record amount of funds raised. Finally, Selection Group thanked the 15,000 Residents in its complexes who participated in this important financing activity.
“The business community’s philanthropic role extends beyond its generous contributions, particularly during a pandemic when its leadership qualities are also needed more than ever. Health and healthy lifestyles were always a key part of my priorities. They are the first strategic axis around which Selection Group’s research and development activities are centered. The CHU Sainte-Justine year after year consistently makes a difference in children’s health and in the lives of our families. It is thus important that we combine our efforts and resources to contribute to the Foundation’s mission and success. I am pleased to have been able to count on the support of our communities and business network for this cause, which I hold dear.”
– Réal Bouclin, Founding President and Chief Executive Officer, Selection Group
“Watching the Selection Group community mobilize for Sainte-Justine in the midst of a pandemic, demonstrates a commitment that extends well beyond the concept of solidarity: it is also an act of benevolence, from one generation to the next. By participating in the Grand moitié-moitié Sélection Retraite, residents and tenants help to ensure a healthier future for all children in Quebec. Thanks to their generosity and Mr. Bouclin’s philanthropic vision in initiating this unifying campaign, Sainte-Justine’s teams will be able to continue providing care based on to the highest pediatric standards. On behalf of all the children of Sainte-Justine, thank you for being there to offer them a future where they can fulfill themselves even better.”
– Maud Cohen, President and CEO of the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation
