30 years of history
Selection Group’s history began in 1989 with the purchase of a triplex in Montréal’s Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighborhood. When Réal Bouclin started his business, little did he know that he would one day lead Canada’s largest private sector company in the retirement community sector.
Elevating the art of living
Right from the start, Selection Group implemented a unique vertical integration structure that included the creation of a construction company to develop real estate complexes, a business strategy that proved to be highly advantageous.
Today, Selection Group is a leader in the creation of multi-generational living environments. Since 2013, the number of multi-generational and retirement apartments in its portfolio has increased by 322% to more than 13,000 units. The company now has more than 70 projects in development, construction and operation. While experiencing a fast-paced growth in recent years, Selection Group has also been able to maintain a 95% customer satisfaction rate year after year thanks to the contributions of its almost 5000 devoted employees across Québec.
After celebrating its 30th anniversary, Selection Group is now well-positioned to pursue its expansion in Québec, as well as in new markets in Ontario, the rest of Canada, and the East coast of the United States
To build a future that is respectful of the environment and where our living spaces bring generations together.
To create communities by building living spaces that foster happiness, sharing and bringing people together.
Our greatest strength is seeing the world through the eyes of our residents and employees. We recognize that small gestures and considerations can make major differences in their lives.
Their well-being is our priority. The focus is thus on respect for their individual personalities, differences, and for the environment in which they live and evolve.
Our passion for creating and reinventing living spaces is part of our DNA. Continuing to grow by innovating in order to offer the best possible experiences to our residents and employees is our core mission.
Each day we cast a new and bold look at our practices. This is the driving force of our creativity.
We focus on energy, “joie de vivre” and attitude, not on age. We are “hyperactive” in the sense that we make things happen and are always inspired by creating the best possible environments for our residents.
In short, we are passionate and our love for real estate stems from the happiness that it brings our residents.
Our confidence in our ability to change lives and belief in our peers are the foundation of what we are. We have good hearts and we remain true to our values and authentic in all our initiatives.
That is why the communities that we create are characterized by openness and respect. Our greatest reward? That our residents feel at home.
